A BASIC INFOMATION ON "PELESHET/PHILISTINE/PALESTINE" BACKGROUND

1. The root of modern Israel began some 3,200 years ago with a war between two long-dead civilizations, a war that took place in a land far from Israel.

2. Around 1185 BC, these peoples began to come to the great kingdoms of Egypt. Egypt regarded "Sea Farers" as a horde, and referred to them as the `Peleshet' (peh - les-het).

3. The Peleshet were driven out of Egypt, and settled in the south of the land of Canaan in the cities of Gaza, Ashkelon, and Ashdod, Pentapolis was the center power for "Philistine" people, a cluster of five cities along the coast of southern Canaan: Ashkelon, Ashdod, Ekron, Gath, and Gaza, and their influences, however, stretched farther north up the coast.

4. Since they were kicked out by the Egyptians, the Sea Fearer fled North into what is now known as "Gaza", then southern "Israel".

5. The Philistines were an Aegean people - more closely related to the Greeks, and they did not have any connection ethnically, linguistically, or historically with Muslims and/or Arabs.

6. It was early Muslim conquests also referred to as the Arab conquests that invaded the land of Israel.

7. There was no historical record to show early Muslim's existence in the land of Israel.

8. Israel ("is'rāīl") was mentioned around 43 times in the Quran, but Muslim-Palestinian or Palestine, there is none.
